Expressing Peace. Hugs. 39.
“When we hug, our hearts connect and we know that we are not separate beings. Hugging with mindfulness and concentration can bring reconciliation, healing, understanding, and much happiness.” Thich Nhat Hanh
For me there is a wonderful exchange of energy, spiritual wellness, and respect when I hug and am hugged by someone. It’s a physical namaste. It expresses the presence of Divinity — love, peace, truth — in each of us. Thus it affirms that we are One.
Some people love hugging. Some people do not. Respecting either is important. Offering a welcomed hug is a gift. Forcing a hug on someone who’d rather not can exchange not-so-good energies.
A shared hug delivers peace of mind, of heart, of breath, of joy. Such a hug comes from the Peace each of us is.
Open arms and a moment’s hesitation, to insure the other is accepting, can be the opening of a beautiful shared prayer: a hug.
Giver of Eternal Hugs,
the pleasure of holding another,
heart to heart,
brings awareness of all we are
and all we share and all we have.
The moment we allow our consciousness
to know the One we are
increases a hug’s abundant wealth
of Love and Peace and Joy.
Thank you, Sweet Spirit, for holding us
in your forever hug
and for letting us know the Truth we share
when we hug one another.
And so it is.
Amen. Amen.
