20 Ways to Pray

This week, I invite you to ease back and realize that praying is about the easiest thing you can do. Consider this:

I remind you of Ellen Debenport’s way of expressing Unity Principle #4:

Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-Mind
and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything good.
(The Five Principles: A Guide to Practical Spirituality)

And Meister Eckhart stated that if the only prayer one ever says is Thank you, God, that is enough.

May I encourage you to recognize that praying can happen any time, any place, no matter what you are doing. So, why not begin to associate a simple prayer phrase with a simple activity.

Simple activities
Remember that praying is communicating with God. That is reason enough. You need not have a specific purpose or cause, you can just be looking to enjoy the “creative thinking that heightens the connection.” A simple phrase combined with one of those simple times…or one of your own choosing…is all it takes.

Simple phrases

Certainly, neither list should limit you. You are not limited to where or when you pray. As well, nothing limits the phrase that starts your prayer or ends your prayer or stands as your entire prayer.

Pray on!
