Is there such a thing as secret prayer?
We often pray for others without being asked.
At times I have asked other others to pray for someone, without the someone’s knowledge.
I’ll guess we’ve each put names on prayer lists without asking the person if we might.
Are such prayers secret prayers? Can there be such a thing as a secret prayer?
I’d say no. That we’ve prayed may be secret, and no one actually, consciously knows we’ve prayed for them. Years ago that was tough for me. I thought I needed to let the other person know I had prayed for them. I know better now.
I offer there is no secret to the prayer itself. No matter who or where or how or when a prayer is offered for us, Spirit knows it. What we know spiritually is a long way from what our human consciousness recognizes. It’s a long distance because Spirit is the center of our being; our mortal consciousness is usually “out there” somewhere.
Every prayer is heard by Spirit. Every one of us is of Spirit. Every prayer is within us: calls to us, affirms for us, lives within us. A powerful proof of our being One.
Loving Spirit,
we enjoy that every prayer is heard,
even that every prayer originates with You.
We reflect your love and grace
by offering you (y)our prayers.
And no prayer is a secret.
Your Spirit living as each of us
knows every prayer, and every prayer
is known to us.
Known to our hearts, to our God-mind.
Known and loved and blessed.
This is the power and the peace of being One with you.
Thank you, Spirit.
Amen.
Love and blessings,
