Prayer for An Other
The power of prayer magnifies when we pray for an other person. In truth, the prayer is not merely for the other but also for our Self. Outward bound prayer is more than doing good for the other. As we are One, the prayer initiated by concern and care for one other is literally for All.
How beautiful.
In Come Apart for Awhile, by Robert and Janet Ellsworth, the essence of praying for someone else makes it impossible to pray “only” for someone else.
- Oneness. As you pray for another you know yourself and the other as one. The wellness or prosperity or grace or love you affirm for the other, you are affirming for your Self as well.
- Love. Praying is a creative expression of love. The desire to pray for someone else is a creative giving and sharing of love. It is also an acknowledgement of love already being received.
- Consciousness shift. The state of the human mind, fueled by the heart, God’s mind, changes as we engage our Self in praying for another. In addition to the truth of Oneness and the awareness of Love, we move beyond the physical focus. We are aware that the affirmations we express are not for material manifestations, not for physical conditions. Our focus is of Spirit.
Guiding Spirit,
we thank you for the Truth of this Being.
Together, we thank you for the Love we share between us
and the Love we share with You.
We acknowledge and affirm our real and strong
experience of wellness,
of wealth,
of peace,
of gladness
that are already ours as One with You,
as One that is All. Perfect and whole.
And so it is. And so we thank you, Spirit.
