Expressing Peace. Earth Peace. 23.
Earth Peace – Big Blue Marble
On my way to work, glancing at the high white clouds, I had a wonderful perception-shift. For just a moment, I imagined being in (even beyond) the clouds, looking back at Earth. The Big Blue Marble.
I felt a combo of gratitude and excitement, a bit of possession (“This is my planet!”), and awesome peace.
It’s as the peace I feel when I arrive home in the evenings. Sitting on the porch Saturday mornings. Walking Alex around the neighborhood. Replacing cabinet hinges in the kitchen. Aligning the garage door opener. The peace of home.
For a beautiful moment this morning I saw the entirety of Earth and felt its entirety as home. The natural wonders of Earth are majestic. Its life-supporting systems make it a miracle. The force and power of its oceans and its climate and its molten core make it awe-inspiring. Its minuscule size relative to suns and stars and even other planets makes it humble.
And all the human troubles that happen on Earth are disturbing, sometimes heart-breaking. Yet step away for a moment. Realize the natural wealth and art and strength and humility of our Earth Home. Feel the Earth Peace it is. Know that however dynamic the Big Bang was, the creation was from Peace. Earth Peace.
That’s Peace for which we can be grateful. Peace we can strive to protect. Peace we can work to share. Peace we can universally cherish. Earth Peace is what we have and what we can replenish.

Earth is mysterious.
Earth is comfortable.
Earth is challenging.
Earth is home. Earth is Peace.
We accept and cherish your guidance:
to preserve the beauty,
to respect the majesty,
to explore the mystery,
to embrace the comfort,
to protect and to share the Peace.
Thank you, Spirit, that we stay mindful
that where we live is made from Peace.
And so it is. Amen. Amen.
