Expressing Peace. Being Prepared. 25.
Being prepared is among the most peaceful feelings I know. Getting ready contributes tremendously to that ultimate peace. The planning and acting, the thinking and assembling generate energies (and excitements) that underscore the peace.
For just over 2 years I was “permanent guest speaker” at Unity Center Austin on Sunday mornings. Today, I’ll be guest speaking again; this time at Unity of Southeast Texas. I am ready. Whoo-hoo.
I prepared each of those 2 years’ lessons early Sunday mornings. I had the title, the theme, and the basic idea. Perhaps I began gathering information and stories and such during the preceding week. Yet the actual put-together was reserved for Sunday mornings.
Yesterday, driving from Austin to Beaumont (TX), I was pleased that I had already prepared for today. After we went out to dinner last evening and returned to Aunt Midge’s, I did a bit of thinking about but not major changing today’s lesson.
I woke up early this morning. No matter how well-prepared the lesson itself was, I wasn’t prepared. I needed/wanted the early morning peace-making of getting ready.
What do you do frequently that gives you peace as you get ready? How often do you ease back and enjoy the peace itself?
Perfect Preparer of All
It feels so good to get everything put together;
It feels so much better to get myself ready, too.
The joy of preparing pleases;
The peace of being prepared pleases even more.
Sweet Spirit, you help me
remember the peace of readying myself
as well as my tasks; thank you.
You guide me to recognize the peace
from knowing I am prepared; thank you.
You let me perform the task with comfort and ease
and full-engagement
and peace;
thank you.
And so it is. Amen. Amen.
Enjoy Peace. Express Peace.
