Working World (1)

Work is not merely what we do. Work is where we spend the majority of our time and, perhaps, our energy. Work is what we love and tolerate and enjoy and struggle through. Work is rewarding and rewarded. Work is seen by some as a blessing and is felt by some as a curse.  Today begins a series of Working World  prayers, simple suggestions to get your day, your work off to a great start!

Guiding Spirit,

I am blessed by the power to work and the freedom work brings.

You give me these.

I am grateful for the opportunity and ability and energy to apply my Self

to my work.

These are gifts from you to me.

I am confident, certain of your giving me balance among the work done

by my hands, in my head, and from my heart.

Guiding Spirit,

I welcome your direction in helping me

do my work thoroughly, carefully, and with commitment.

And so it is. Amen.
