Nothing for the Tin Man
Wednesday I walked outside to get in my car to drive to prayer service. My car was gone.
Stolen or repossessed?
I knew the answer. Not just because I live in an honest neighborhood.
I said three immediate prayers.
God, please guide me in what I should do.
God, thank you for keeping me filled with your peace and your grace.
God, remind me it is your will working, whatever it is.
I called the car lease company. I called the repossession service. I learned the steps to reinstatement.
I followed the steps. I will reclaim my car Tuesday.
I sat down and created an iPod playlist. I took my iPod for a run.
One line struck so true, 25 minutes into the run, just as I turned onto a country road lined with black-eyed Susans:
No, Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
that he didn’t, didn’t already have.
Thank you, God.
