Make it easy…
Every morning I read the day’s vignette from Alan Cohen’s A Daily Dose of Sanity.
For this week between Christmas and New Years, the 12/26 piece encourages slowing down, looking in rather than out, catching one’s breath and possibly (slowly, gently) cleaning one’s clutter. I liked what I was reading.
So, I found it somewhat ironic that I immediately began to high-gear my mind, thinking of all the “OK, what sort of those look-inside, clean-out-the-closet stuff can I start doing right now?!”
Fortunately, I asked the voice in my head to s l o w d o w n.
I then remembered the beautiful set of prayer and scripture affirmations my sister Robin gave me yesterday. (Merry Christmas!) I took a slow, deep breath, and I just drew a card.
Help me, heavenly Father, to find the time this day to be alone with Thee.
Make it easy. Make this week a slow, peaceful blend of relaxing and refreshing, of reflecting and relating, of looking back with pleasure and looking ahead with prospect.
And thank you, God, for making it easy for me to make it easy. And thank you, Robin, for a wonderful gift!
One more Merry Christmas!
