The body : spirit analogy

God creates us from Spirit.

God creates us with Spirit.

God creates us of Spirit.

I love the analogy that we are all ocean and each of us is a wave. A wave can never cease to be part of the ocean, yet the wave establishes and expresses its individuality. As we each express our individual identity.

God loves our spirit. It’s that spirit that expresses our individuality, our physical beings/bodies. No doubt God loves that.

Attending our bodies, enjoying and grooming our bodies is only natural. It’s the the human thing to do, for sure. And our bodies are to be celebrated, to be enjoyed for all their beauty and worth. That means remembering the body is temporary: as long as the lifetime (a sure misnomer for Life is truly timeless) we experience in this physical existence. And so is its worth temporary.

Spirit on the other hand has endless existence. No matter how much I enjoy my physical being that lets me exercise and eat and sleep and love, it does not last forever.  Spirit that I am does last forever. It is without end.

No matter how exciting my physical life, nothing beats eternity. I’d say the true analogy is “body is to spirit” as “enjoyment is to ecstasy.”

Affirmation: I am body and all it allows. I am Spirit and that allows forever.
